Parry Financial Services ("we", "us", "our") operates the mortgage calculator tools and First Home Playbook available at parryfs.com, and runs lead forms on Facebook and Instagram. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

3. What Information We Collect

If you use the calculators without an account:
We don't collect any personal details. All calculations happen in your browser and no data is stored. We do collect anonymised usage data through Cloudflare Web Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, including session recordings, to understand how people use the site. Financial input fields (like income, debts and property price) are masked in these recordings so the values you enter aren't visible to us.

If you create an account:

First and last name
Email address
Password (stored as an encrypted hash - we never see your actual password)
Calculator inputs you choose to save (purchase price, deposit, income, debts, expenses, age)
Saved scenario results
Date and time of account creation and last sign in

If you sign in with Google:
Your name and email address as provided by Google. We do not receive your Google password.

If you fill in a lead form or sign up to the First Home Playbook:
Your name and email address, plus any other answers you give us on the form (for example, your timeframe for buying, deposit situation, or how we can help).

Automatically collected:
Basic usage data, IP address (for security only), browser type and device type.

4. What We Do Not Collect

Credit card or payment information
IRD number or tax information
Bank account details
Information about specific properties beyond what you enter into the calculator

5. Why We Collect Your Information

To create and manage your account
To save and retrieve your calculator scenarios
To send account confirmation and password reset emails
To give access to the First Home Playbook
To contact people about their home buying plans and mortgage advice
To send occasional emails with tips and updates, where people have opted in
To improve the calculator tools over time
To protect against fraud and abuse

Where people have opted in to marketing, we may use email addresses, in a secure, hashed form, to show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Email addresses and names received from Google when you sign in with Google are used only to create and run your account. They are not used to build advertising audiences.

6. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

We use the following trusted third-party services:

Supabase - Secure database and authentication (Oceania region)
Google - Authentication only (if you use Google sign-in)
Resend - Sending confirmation and password reset emails
Vercel - Website hosting
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) - Running our lead forms, and advertising where people have opted in to marketing
Microsoft Clarity - Website analytics, including masked session recordings
Cloudflare - Website analytics

We only share your information with lenders, insurers or other finance providers when we're arranging finance for you, and only with your consent.

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

Account information: Until you delete your account
Saved scenarios: Until you delete them or close your account
Lead form and Playbook sign up details: Up to two years, unless you become a client (in which case standard client record requirements apply) or ask us to delete them
Usage logs: 90 days
Email logs: 30 days

When you delete your account, all personal information and saved scenarios are permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Security

All data transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
Passwords hashed using industry-standard encryption
Database access protected by Row Level Security (RLS)
Reputable, security-audited third-party services

9. Children

This service is intended for adults (18 years and over). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact us at dan@parryfs.com if you believe a minor has created an account.

10. Your Rights Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020

Access - Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correct - Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
Delete - Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Withdraw consent - Delete your account at any time through the app

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email, or by contacting dan@parryfs.com.

Microsoft Clarity - Cookies used to understand how people use the site

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of parryfs.com after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Registered users will be notified of significant changes by email.
